Getting Married

Congratulations on your engagement. We are pleased to be able to assist you in the preparation and celebration of your wedding at St. Joseph's. The usual place for the celebration of a wedding is the parish church. We are blessed with two attractive churches in a pleasant setting, ideal for your special day.


Steps to take:

1.      Obtain a copy of the "Getting Married at St. Joseph's" leaflet from the church porch (call in, phone the secretary, email us). A copy of this leaflet is also available for you to download here.

2.      Make contact with the Parish Priest.

3.      He will meet with you and your fiance. There are papers to be completed, a Marriage Preparation course to be attended, and the ceremony to be put together.

If you are from outside the parish, and are interested in using either St. Joseph's or St Gregory's church, you will firstly need to speak to the Parish Priest where you live to ascertain whether he is available to marry you here.

Please note that our diocese asks for six months advance notice of a wedding so that we can work well with you to prepare for your special day.
